If it looks like a hunger games book and tastes like a hunger games book, it must be a hunger games book.

I've been in a reading rut where it's just felt like every book is taking forever to read, even ones I was excited about. But I flew through this, no joke, in a week. I read it every day. When I was in the car before work, walking through the parking lot, on my lunch break, when I had a couple minutes free with no tasks, when I came home. A WEEK. And I loved it. Initial thoughts:

Wow!

My heart feels broken but full all at once. Haymitch’s character has intrigued me for so long. What could have happened to get one man into such a depressive, self-destructive state. Collins does a magnificent job of telling his story and bringing closure to Haymitch’s journey.

And that epilogue! Gah! 😫😭
