I always start Colleen's books without knowing anything about them. I just dive in and start reading. So once I figured out that book was about domestic abuse I was even more interested. This is by far one of my favorite books by Hoover. I myself was in an abusive marriage years ago. And I can say leaving for me was one of the hardest things I've done. I had a two year old daughter to keep safe. It all came to a head when we had a very large fight and I ended up in the ER with a bruised back. Th ...more

OMG what a wonderful book. Totally worth the hype. This book does have some trigger warnings such as an abusive relationship.

Minus the abusive relationship, this book was just fantastic and I can’t wait to read the second book (It Starts With Us).
