Katie (Romance Novel Quotes)
I liked this book a lot, especially given my high expectations, how I (probably unfairly) compared it to The Undertaking of Hart and Mercy, and my personal quirks re: magic in romance.

I sometimes struggle with romance novels set in the real world, but with the existence of some degree of magic. What happens if you meet someone who could be the one…but he ends up getting hit by a car and is now visiting you as a ghost? The premise for this was unconventional but I adored the book! Florence and Benji had quite a few obstacles in their way (namely: he’s a ghost.) The focus on Florence repairing her relationships with her family were lovely, too.

Florence Day is a romance ghostwriter who no longer believes in romance. Benji Andor is her new editor who doesn’t give a shit if she believes in romance or not, because she has a deadline to meet and he’s not giving her an extension. But when Florence receives a phone call that leads to an unexpected visit back home to the place she fled a decade ago, she’s forced to deal with ghosts, both past and present, as she navigates one of the most difficult experiences
