This was one of my choices for the read the world challenge for Brazil. You get the story in pieces, like looking at a photograph and then hearing the story of what happened right before the photo was taken. It's beautifully written but a super sad story about 2 sisters living in rural Brazil who are separated when the younger one witnessed an event that you get in pieces as a reader. We see both sisters grow up and get married and what comes when trauma is untreated and pushed under the rug.
