Het is al weer meer dan 25 jaar geleden dat ik dit dikke boek las. Een groepje studenten gelooft in de eigen elitaire bestemming en vervalt uiteindelijk tot misdaad die verheimelijkt moet worden. Het gaat over het bedwelmende effect van sektarisme en de slachtoffers die daar uit voortkomen. Ik vond dit boek veel beter dan het later uitgekomen ‘ de kleine vriend’. Dat was lastig door te komen terwijl ‘de verborgen geschiedenis’ wel intrigeerde en je ook wel achterlaat met het gevoel dat je met hu ...more
