Mei: OKAY SOOO... YES, HUGE CAVEAT that the trigger warnings are INSANE and also very spoilery, but Silvia did an amazing job with the gothic house horror here, I promise. 😂 It's a pretty slow build-up with the mystery and the horror, and the antagonists make you SO FREAKIN' ANGRY and are absolute fucked up creeps. The pay off is so worth it though. The third act was a wild ride, and the writing was really good throughout! It gave me strong Resident Evil 7 vibes with the description of some of the things going on! Our protagonist Noemi is very badass too! There's also some themes of romance, and I think Silvia did pretty good with balancing all of the pieces together.

I read this for a buddy read, and WOW. So right off the bat, I have to warn about the trigger warnings which include the following (and I'm sure there's something I'm missing): (view spoiler). The vibes in this book are immaculate. Moreno-Garcia does a great job building the suspense. I felt like the beginning was a bit slow, but I got super invested around 40%. Multiple scenes caused visceral reactions.
