This is the closest thing to a Game of Thrones/The First Law that I've read in a long time! Absolutely loved this book, but for different reasons from Game of Thrones and The First Law. Those two books are very character driven, while I think this book was more story driven. The characters are interesting, but I found myself caring more about their surroundings/the world than the characters themselves. I usually dislike that type of writing, but it really worked with me.
