Morgan: This is a great mystery with some interesting magic running through. Everyone in the small town has some form of psychic power that they use to attract tourists. While this is mentioned it is done well and their powers typically aren't just to make the story magic it actually ties into the plot happening.
The main character doesn't live there but visits yearly to spend the summer where she once lived. But that year seems different from the get-go. Her friends seem to be acting differently. As she is growing older she really questions if it is her who is different or if the events before this is cause for the change.
The friendships are one of the most interesting parts of this as it feels very realistic to teens actually growing up.
There are times when the story does seem to drag itself into a lot of different places but it really mimics the minor subplot of a massive storm coming, which causes everyone to become frantic so the story doing that actually was a neat touch.
Perhaps the biggest thing was it was an easy read that pulled me out of a slump and really left me wanting more of these characters.
