This is one of my favorite urban fantasy romance series that I've picked up in recent times, but mostly everyone's always been turned off by the original covers whenever I mention it everywhere I go. 😂 I really love the politics with the different houses here, and the exploration of superpowers affecting the real world. Seeing Nevada holding her own against very very charming and handsome (and crazy and unhinged) men was a delight! She's a badass, but also super self-aware of her situation and capabilities. Enter Mad Rogan who is a FANTASTIC MMC. I loved every moment where they interacted. Their dynamic and witty banter and the sexual tension was just chef's kiss. Also their initial meeting? Holy shit!! The overall mystery and bigger picture worldbuilding is great too!

I FINALLY read my first Ilona Andrews book after hearing the name for a LONG time and I'm so so so glad it was this one. For me, Burn for Me is absolutely worth the hype, the recommendations, the high ratings, everything! I LOVED it and I was just grinning so hard when I finished (after gasping at that plot twist cliffhanger).
