I am forever in awe that this was written with the I-Ching as an editorial guide; a whole novel whose twists and turns were based on the toss of some coins on a tabletop.

This is one one of the more normal books (still not that normal), from my favorite writer and personal hero Philip K. Dick. This is an alternate history of World War II where the Axis powers have won and occupy the United States. Japan, Italy, and the U.S. have all divided America, and this is about an average Joe who starts a jewelry business and is looseley tied to a higher purpose.

This is one of PKD's more award winning novels, and I enjoyed it, though it is far down on my list of favorite PK
