This book just didn't grab me. I found Tessa to be extremely foolhardy, taking chances that, of course, put others in danger, not just her. Her need to get the story for her newspaper caused her to avoid her protection, even though her life had already been threatened. Dumb. This ended up being a 3.5 star read for me. I had a hard time getting into the story until about 1/3 of the way in. Tessa was irritating me at first. But then I did enjoy it and ended up really liking Tessa and Julian. Tessa is an investigating reporter and Julian is an undercover agent trying to stop a human trafficking ring. The sex is hot between Tessa and Julian and we learn more about their lives and the baggage they carry. I'll definitely read on in this series.

I'm quickly becoming addicted to this series! I really have enjoyed the way Pamela Clare writes, but I have to say I have a soft spot for Julian Darcangelo! I also thought that Tessa's character was so strong. It was her mom however that really surprised me the most.
I'm excited for the next book in the series. Each book surpasses my expectations!
And I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the narrator for the audiobook I listened to. Kaleo Griffith--YUM! He can read to me ANY time. ...more
