Very suspenseful book about a bunch of computer geeks who create a game about a serial killer, but a real maniac starts killing people in exactly the same way as the game and in the same order. Despite all the warning, the police are having a difficult time catching the criminal. On top of that mystery, the computer people all have secrets in their past that they've hidden behind computer firewalls, deleting their pasts except for the past 10 years. The characters are enjoyable, the cops all hav

I read this series several years ago and decided to revisit it in 2024. I thought it was a fantastic debut filled with everything I personally look for in a great story. The characters are exceptional and the detectives are filled with both personality and humor. There were twists and turns I never saw coming and I really wanted to know “who dunnit” but at the same time was reluctant to have it end.

Extraordinary series opener. So glad I have at least 5 more to look forward to.
There were so many characters to keep track of, yet I had not a single problem. They were all so clearly drawn, each one essential to the story.
