Excellent mystery. This is the first in a series set in south central Florida, where tourists fear to tread. The Florida of swamps, alligators and...cattle!?! I never realized there were cattle ranches in the Sunshine State. The writer does an excellent job of portraying the flavor of the South without sinking into cornpone stereotypes.
