This is perhaps Dame Christie’s ultimate achievement in mystery-writing.

Ten strangers are invited to a private island off the coast of England. On arrival they find that their mysterious host is not in attendance. Instead he has left a recording to be played after dinner, in which each is accused of having committed a murder in their past. Ten strangers were gathered on an isolated island. Each was accused of having committed murder in the past. And Then…

There were None…

The book is a fantastic murder mayhem mystery. There is no Miss Marple. There is no Monsieur Poirot. There are just… murders… mystery… and lots of maybes….

I love the suspense and the wonder of how exactly is the murderer going to be revealed or whether it will be revealed at all. I love Miss Marple & Monsieur Poirot but I reckon this is one of Christie's best work

Now THAT is how you write a mystery.

Clever, intriguing, and not overdone. Very lean - no useless information or excess babble. Loved it!

Because each of them is guilty of his/her own wrongdoing, they are easily susceptibl ...more

What a great book. I was clueless as to who the murderer was all the way to the end. It made me think of Clue, but instead of "who killed the host," it was "which of you is the murderer" as one by one, everyone was killed. ...more

The only other Agatha Christie book I've read was Murder on the Orient Express, which I absolutely adored. Part of the reason that I found that book so appealing was the immersive experience of the old fashioned train journey. I didn't find And Then There Were None to be quite so appealingly immersive, but it was was quite clever and well done. Just not quite to my personal taste as Murder on the Orient Express was! ...more

Super quick read, but the twist wasn't as interesting or satisfying as I thought it was going to be. ...more
