#1 in the Ruth Galloway Mystery series
I'm not quite sure why I liked this book so much, but it totally caught my attention and I couldn't wait to continue reading. I think it's because Ruth is such a solid and enjoyable heroine. I really liked the character of Ruth and I am really curious to see where she goes from here. But there were a number of inconsistencies in this book which annoyed me a little, and I found the characters were all a bit stereotypical. As for 'who did it' - it was a bit predictable. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the read and am looking forward to the next one.

I gave this book 2 ½ stars and have rounded to 3. I am not sure if I will continue with this series. I did not like the writing or especially care for any of the characters. Ruth annoyed me with her constant complaint of her weight and how lonely that she was. She did not attempt to socialize and preferred to stay in her home alone. It also appears a little strange to me that she is an archaeologist but is asked to help solve a current kidnapping/murder mystery.
