When I chose this book, I was looking for the drama and emotion of the sinking of the Titanic. That is all of the background of this novel. In fact, less than 50 pages are devoted to the actual sinking, yet the rest of the novel is based on those events. When it came to the actual sinking, it all felt a little flat. I didn't feel any terror among the passengers. Plus, the passengers were on the ship a handful of days before it sunk - plenty of time to develop relationships among the characters -

This was a good read. It's one of those books where I really would like the choice of giving half star ratings, because I'm torn between a 3 and a 4. So really, for me this is a 3.5. I liked the retelling of a Titanic tale that had a good story feel, but didn't focus on the time on the boat or the actual retelling of the sinking sequence. Instead, it focused more on the people and their lives immediately after being rescued.
