This was a really cute cozy mystery. Betts and her Grandmother own and operate a cooking school in the small Missouri town of Broken Rope. Strange things have always happened in Broken Rope--hangings, ghosts, buried treasure, etc. When Everett (Gram's good friend) is suddenly found dead in the school and Gram is arrested for the murder, Betts sets out to find the killer.

What I liked: I loved the characters. Betts and Gram are funny, witty and lovable. The story has the typical small town family

I've been wanting to start this series for forever and have owned the book for four years. I'm glad I started it and got to know the characters along with one very cool ghost that I can't wait until he shows up in another of the books. I just love Grams' and Jerome's characters, and they definitely made me want to read the next book.

I hadn't figured out the killer and was surprised at who it was. The showdown was pretty epic--with a ghost helping, what else could it be but epic? Scaring the perp
