I received a copy of 8 Weeks in return for an honest review.

Cal and Shelly are the high school sweethearts that got married after graduation and have spent the past 6 years showing everyone that high school love can sometimes survive because they have a very strong relationship.

Then Cal goes to Vegas to celebrate one of his best friends' upcoming nuptials and finds himself in the worst scenario he could never imagine. He wakes up hungover after a night of serious partying and can't remember mu I received a copy of 8 Weeks in return for an honest review.

Then Cal goes to Vegas to celebrate one of his best friends' upcoming nuptials and finds himself in the worst scenario he could never imagine. He wakes up hungover after a night of serious partying and can't remember much of anything and is completely dumbfounded when he sees the naked blonde walking out of the bathroom of his hotel room. The moment he sees her, he knows that life with Shelly is about to change forever once she finds out the truth, but never for one moment does he even consider hiding the truth from her because he knows he won't be able to live with his guilt, even though he's not 100% sure that anything actually happened between the two of them.

Shelly has a reaction that came as no surprise to me or to Cal, but he's not ready to give up. She tells him that she wants him to leave and that she wants a divorce, but he convinces her to give him 8 weeks. 8 weeks for him to prove that he does love her more than life itself and that their life together is worth fighting for. But will 8 weeks be enough?

Bethany Lopez did a great job with this book. I'm glad that it was told with alternating voices, so we could get inside both Cal and Shelly's heads and show us that Cal is genuinely remorseful about what happened and that he's completely serious about convincing Shelly that their relationship is worth the hard fight that he's up again. I've always believed that once a cheater, always a cheater, but this book definitely showed that there can be a gray line in there sometimes and things are always as you think they would be.

The only complaint that I had about the book was that Cal didn't go get tested after the night in Vegas to be sure that he hadn't come down with anything from the naked blonde.

All in all, I am glad that I read this book. I've read a few other books by Bethany Lopez and it's safe to say that I'm a fan!
