Henry DeTamble is a time traveler. He has no control over when or where he travels, and he can’t take anything with him, so he always arrives naked and without money, ID or food. The book chronicles Henry’s life and that of his wife, Clare Abshire … at least to early middle-age. How they met, when they met, who remembers whom, how they fall in love, and most importantly, how they deal with Henry’s condition.

I found this story bittersweet. There is such a strong love between Clare & Harry, but so much pain as well. I was extremely easy to read & I'd definitely recommend it to others.

Wow, this book made me angry on an almost Lolita-esque scale.
Admittedly, I did enjoy the first 10%. But then I quickly realised that it was pretentious twaddle, sloppily written with two of the most unlikeable characters I've ever come across in a book. Clare, in particular, is just a slightly-more-literary Bella Swan. A completely codependent waste of space. (view spoiler)

If i could give this book 4.5 stars I would. I love the "out- of- the- box" storyline and the unique way of telling a love story. There were a few racy scenes that I skimmed. I also did not care for the offensive language, I did not feel that it was necessary or added anything to the book. Other than those two things I did really enjoy it! I would recommend this book. I believe it to be one of the best books I've read this year. I"m looking forward to seeing the movie!

I loved this book. I would read it over and over again. I had seen the movie a few years ago, not knowing it was based on a novel. I was nervous at first that having seen the movie would ruin my experience with the book. I quickly found that that was not going to be the case. I love these characters and I love the story line. I didn't want the book to end.

I would give this 3 1/2 stars because I didn't hate it. It was just about 100 pages too long, which, for me, detracted from the whole book so that I felt it was getting unnecessary. I really loved the concept, and I loved having to think hard to get my head around the logic of it. I really enjoyed how Henry's life and those he was involved with was a chaos of cause and effect without ever really knowing which was which. Henry as a character grew on me a little, although I wasn't enormously fond

Such an intriguing concept for a story. Although I struggled with this one for the first 100 pages or so (and even considered putting it down and not bothering to finish), I'm glad I chose to continue. It provided lots of food for thought and left me with an overall good feeling. I liked it.

I really don't understand the love for this book. I found all of the characters dull and pretentious. I really found the relationship between Claire and Henry to be so creepy. Whether it was intentional or not, he groomed her from an early age to be his wife. She spent her childhood and teenage years playing and talking with a naked middle aged man, without her parents' knowledge. It really left a bad taste in my mouth.
