I would normally read about one 'chick lit' novel a year. When I borrowed this one and started it I thought to myself, well, this will be my one. But as the book went on, I became more engrossed with the characters and the story until real tears fell at the end. I am actually almost loathe to label this as chicklit, as it doesn't have the vacuous silliness that generally characterises the genre for me (which is why I usually don't like it). I enjoyed this although it was slow & disjointed at first. The "Club" itself is really just a women's get together as there's often not much knitting going on, particularly as some of the "members" don't knit. The relationships between some of the Friday night drop-ins are quite tenuous in the beginning, developing as they get to know Georgia & each other.
