Wow, wow, WOW, this was just indescribable. There really aren't words to express just how fantastic this book was. There were just too many things to name, but it came together perfectly. The story, the characters, the history, the world that the author built. Just all of it.

I tend to be skeptical of books with a lot of hype, but this one lived up to every gushing review and every 5 star rating in my opinion. I can not wait to continue on with the series, because I have got to know what's going ...more

Really interesting fantasy world. Different and it's a workable way to have blood thirsty predators also sympathetic. I really like it so far.

Tess is supposed to be terrifying and deadly and Simon is afraid of her but she's very sweet to Meg, more than just making friends.

How does she have money if she just started working? How could she have stolen it from the institute?

I can't believe they named the child Lizzie Borden.

This is another Series that I will continue ...

I liked that character's 'powers/extra abilities' were revealed gradually as the story went along, and that actions were well-paced, characters well-developed.

However, there were just enough missing words and stumbling points to prevent rounding up to 5 ... thus,
