The Mysterious Benedict Society held up so well for me. I probably haven't read it since early high school and I was so pleased to slip back into this wonderful world. This book is clever and heartwarming and written entirely in a slightly "proper" and somewhat sophisticated tone that reminds me of old fashioned children's stories like the works of Roald Dahl or The Phantom Tollbooth.
