I really enjoyed The Hunger Games trilogy and the movies (read the books first!). I did not like The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes enough to finish it. In this prequel to The Hunger Games the reader learns about a teenage Coriolanus Snow's (the future President Snow) first mentoring experience in the 10th Hunger Games. But the text doesn't seem fresh or new, just a regurgitation of the atrocities the citizens of the Capital of Panem inflict on the children garnered from the Reaping in the Distr ...more

the first half was good and then all of a sudden snow was really unlikeable. not that great kind of a letdown
