I can’t understand why in the world so many of these books with soooooo much potential are written with FMC like this in situations like this and then readers seem to think this is an Alpha FMC. This is not that. And they’re written by women for women for the most part. I know I must sound like a broken record at this point. Why not write a story about a woman who is comfortable with her sexuality AND has had sex with more than one person but knows absolutely nothing about kink when she meets th I can’t understand why in the world so many of these books with soooooo much potential are written with FMC like this in situations like this and then readers seem to think this is an Alpha FMC. This is not that. And they’re written by women for women for the most part. I know I must sound like a broken record at this point. Why not write a story about a woman who is comfortable with her sexuality AND has had sex with more than one person but knows absolutely nothing about kink when she meets these guys? How about a woman in her 20s with a bit of emotional maturity AND the ability to listen before pontificating about some people she has only had the opp to be aware of for less than a week?

I think this is why I read more MM now than FF, MF, MFM, MMF, FFM, or even RH.

I know there are infinite possibilities for the totality of who a h/FMC may be in a book, but unfortunately, it seems like far too many authors and readers continue to push the absolute worse version of the feminine even in the 21st century. I know it’s fiction but I don’t even know women who would operate like this under these circumstances. Period pieces I get, but contemporary stories that readily perpetuate this BS makes no sense to me.

Since authors are readied and primed to give us a heads up about triggers in their stories, I need a trigger warning if a book is about a stoopid woman. That’s my trigger…stoopid FMCs doing stoopid things, saying absolutely stoopid shyte is the new trigger warning for 2025 because it’s clear that if an author is able to make a book smutty enough, lean heavily on a YA writing style in spite of characters being CERTIFIED kinky ass 25-40 year old a-holes, the book will become a fan favorite. The author won’t have to do better, but I shouldn’t have to waste my $$$ to find out the hard way that all those 5🌟 reviews were absolute bs.

What makes it even worse is for me is that I own the audible and there’s nothing redeemable about owning this book. I am literally stuck with some bs that I will never finish.

Before I close this out, I have to say that the male narrators are absolute 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 on the audiobook. They are honestly why I even made it to chapter 17. ...more
