The more time passes, the less I like it. Downgrading to 1.5 stars. (I listened the audiobook, so I don't know how to spell any of the characters' names.)
This looks like a book you write at 14 when you're aspiring to be a reader. It's good practice, and has potential, but when it's done, you move on to write something else that'll be really good.

3rd re-read 4/12/21. Still love this, probably enjoyed it even more the 3rd time.
This book was bloody fantastic...... That duel was brilliant I'm super buzzed for this series right now. Chaol and Celaena all the way love Dorian but just has to be Chaol.... super in love with everything about this I literally think I could ramble for hours about my love for this book. ...more

4th time, let's goooo. Loved it just as much as the previous times, maybe even more motivated to do so because my boyfriend's reading them for the first time! The love triangle grated on my nerves as it usually does, but the men are both fantastic so it's okay! I loved all of the action and the suspense <3 ...more

2024, is the year I plan to conquer Sarah J. Maas and all her books. Throne of Glass is Book #4 in her reading order as the first three books were the first three titles in her ACOTAR series. For me this particular book, I tried to read back in September 2013 and I could not get into it and at the time rated it 2 stars which was a DNF. Fast forward 14 years and it gets a borderline 4Ps for me as I think due to being invested this time around in her books, I felt more determined to read it and en

So...I'm crazy for only giving this a three star rating right? In my defence, I wasn't wowed by the execution. I liked the plot well enough and even loved Celaena despite her being a cold-blooded killer. I loved Chaol (what kind of name is that anyway?) and Dorian. Nehemia also turned out to be not only incredibly interesting but also a good friend to Celaena. In short? The plot and the characters did wowed me. But I wasn't keen on the way it was written or how long it took for the story to evol

Finally had a chance to read this. I was very curious about this book because everyone's talking about it especially when Queen of Shadows came out. And wow, now I know why all the hype. It was really really good. I enjoyed it a lot.
I loved Celaena, 'cause she is awesome and bad ass but her girly side was still there, which is really cute. I loved Dorian and Chaol too, they take care of Celaena in their own little ways. Yes, Celaena is a strong woman, and smart too, but she still needs people t ...more

I really liked the premise of this book. I found myself wanting to know more about the assassin's past as I found it hard to relate to her. Thankfully, we do slowly start to unravel how she came to be this way. I found the real heart of this book and the p.o.v I connected with most, was Captain Westfield. An interesting read with lots of action.

I've seen this book around for such a long time, but can't believe it took me so long to finally read it. The story is one that drew me in right away and I didn't want to put it down. Celaena was a strong and yet relateable character. Chaol and Dorian were great characters and I'm curious to see which one, if either, wins her heart. I'll definitely be reading the next book in the series. The only reason I'm not giving this a full 5 stars is that I felt something was missing..though I can't figur
