Good ending to the series. Glad they were able to stop Levana. Hope Cinder will do good as queen. Also hope everyone will live happily ever after.

This ending to the Lunar Chronicles (atleast for now) was epic in a way I haven't experienced before. First of all Marissa Meyer decided to keep adding more and more pages to each book that came afterwards and this last one had about 800 pages!!! Furthermore this epic finale brought many fairy tale stories together like Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Beauty & the Beast. Even though this series had a good ending, I'm still hoping the author will write a short story soon or some kind of spin-off. ...more

Of course, everyone lived happily ever after. It's based on fairy tales so, duh. For the last fifth be prepared to read/listen to it all. I loved how everything wrapped up perfectly. I normally don't like happily ever afters that are this perfect, but it's a fairy tale so... ...more

I'm a bit puzzled by the 4.5 average rating for this book. It's good enough but not THAT good. This whole series is one of the most long, drawn-out stories I've seen. In book 1, the heroes are trying to stop the Evil Queen from marrying the young, cute emperor. In book 4 (which is twice as long as its predecessors), they're STILL trying to do that.

I don't even know where to start fangirling about this book. I mean, the others were good, and this one wasn't necessarily better, per se. It's just that by now, I'm so attached to the characters. It was a slow burn, and at first I didn't really love Princess Winter, so I didn't love the book. But by about quarter of the way through, I was HAD. I must have cried fifty times in this book! And gasped and covered my mouth and screamed, "NO!" And laughed. And had heart palpitations. And welled up an I don't even know where to start fangirling about this book. I mean, the others were good, and this one wasn't necessarily better, per se. It's just that by now, I'm so attached to the characters. It was a slow burn, and at first I didn't really love Princess Winter, so I didn't love the book. But by about quarter of the way through, I was HAD. I must have cried fifty times in this book! I am in awe of this author. The way she handled the political intrigue, the love stories, the intricate and complex tasks everyone had, down to the smallest detail she explained without being boring...and all the while keeping them meaningful for the story... It was all amazeballs. This book was amazeballs. I think it broke my reading bone...I don't know how I can ever read again after this book. (Just kidding--I've already started "Stars Above" the companion short story collection). But seriously. I'm stunned senseless by how--incredibly--amazing it was.

I think there's something else I wanted to say, but I can't think of it right now, because my brain is just reeling.

One more thing...about how MASTERFULLY this author interwove the plotlines. Keeping up with all the characters, and keeping us invested in them, and keeping them busy...it was amazing. And CRESS! OMG, Cress and Thorn were my absolute faves. Feels to the freaking MOON! Pun intended :) The author even *finally* got me to care about Scarlet and Wolf a bit. And of course Cinder and Kai...glad they didn't rush into things, but I was worrying for their future, and the author did a great job giving us hope for them despite their being literally worlds apart. Lastly, Winter. Oh, Winter. Everyone loved her, but I thought she was kind of sneaky. But at the end, the things Jason said to her about not being broken... hold on while I sob uncontrollably for a moment...That was SUCH a perfect *sniffle* way to deal with mental health in a sensitive way in a fantasy novel. This author is now going on my must-read-the-moment-it-releases list for every book she ever writes. Kudos, Marissa. You rocked my world, and its moon. ...more
