What Members Thought

Honestly, I could not even finish this book I disliked it so much. This was the first E. Lockhart book I have ever read, and although there was a lot of hype around the book, it did not match up to it. Here are a few of the major problems I found within the book.
Mild Spoilers Follow
1) The structure was confusing. I could not wrap my head around the changes between the intertwining "fairytale" was so irrelevant and honestly did not add anything to the story, most of the time i skipped over it. ...more

Booktubeathon read #2
I had high expectations of this book because of the hype and mystery surrounding the novel and I'm glad I went into it not knowing much at all. I ended up loving it.
I won't go into too much detail since it is a contemporary and the twist draws most of everything together in the story.
I thought how this book was done was great. I got confused in some of the flashbacks but overall I really liked how the story was told and the writing style was original and had a significant ...more

WOW! I was not expecting this to book to be..well whatever it was. The style of writing gets some getting used too & you have to accept that you'll be confused for nearly half the book, but the ending was..incredible. I don't want to give anything away, but this is a book that I will never forget, it had that much of an effect on me. Depressing, heartbreaking, beautifully written..I highly recommend.

wow. WOW. this book is unexpected, fascinating, thought-provoking, well written, and strong. it does not lack from only being 225 pages, and the story is INCREDIBLY well told. I am so glad I read this before being influenced by spoilers or hype, and I'm even more glad that we were given such a great book by e. lockhart. this book is beautiful, and i HIGHLY encourage everyone to read it.
