I’m so happy The Night Circus was the BOOKSPLOSION book of the month! I cannot believe I waited so long into picking up this book. It has everything I love in a book: mystery, romance, and fantasy. This is just the perfect book for me. It’s my favorite book that I’ve read this year! I hope Erin Morgenstern writes more books because I need more.

One of my new favorite books of all time. I honestly can't even begin to describe the emotional connection I had with the story and my thoughts. Truly a masterpiece. I quite enjoyed this book; I wish it would have gone on longer. I loved the characters: Celia, Marco, Bailey, Herr Thiesssen, Poppet and Widget. I wanted to see more of the circus, more descriptions of the other tents, more chapters dedicated to Bailey. I love how The Night Circus is part love story, but it is not dependent upon the romance between Celia and Marco. I haven't read a book with such an astounding plot & beautiful, whimsical language in such a long time. Also, I LOVE the multiple perspectives. It added a complexity to the book & definitely made me feel like I was a part of the circus, especially at the points in the book where 2nd person was used. I liked it but I didn't love it or think it was particularly amazing. I loved how it ended with Bailey - it was as thought the circus saved him, and he saved the circus but I'd loved to have seen him meet with Poppet and Widget again. And I'm not the biggest fan of love stories and I wish (this sounds so mean) that Marco's love for her wasn't real, and she ended up killing him instead but, obivously there has to be a happy ending. I liked how it was different though; I don't know any other book ...more

I went into this book thinking this would have a duel, as mentioned on the blurb description on the back cover. I was disappointed. There was no duel, no fight per se and I was left feeling betrayed and bored of the book.

Positives:
