This book is powerful, and I applaud Daniel Volpe for penning such an intense and moving story. Two seemingly innocent men meet, and their stories and their relationship with all that it entails begins. Robert is heartbroken by his mother's cancer diagnosis and her oncoming death. The older Joseph has quite a history behind him, and a secret that he wants to pass on to his younger friend. There is little true selflessness involved in what follows, even if wishes do come true for periods of time. ...more

I really enjoyed this book. The story was definitely intriguing and quickly grabbed my attention. The characters were well rounded and developed just adding to the intrigue of the plot.

I liked how the book was written and, even the section that felt more like Historical Fiction than horror, I found to be enthralling and engrossing. I was dying to know how this tied into the story and how it would benefit Robert and his mother. When it all began to unfold, I really couldn't look away.

This is my first time reading from this author and it won’t be the last. This book was chosen for my July read, this book was so great and well written. This book is about Robert who is facing a hard transition in his life, his mom is battling cancer and she is dying each day and Robert dies as well. He befriends a man named Josef who changes his life and is also facing his own demons. I am a huge WWII history lover and the element of adding that to the book made it a better story. LEFT TO YOU [2021] By Daniel J. Volpe
My Review 5.0 Out Of 5.0 Stars

I had just finished “Toxic Love” [2019] published by Blood Bound Books and was reading an Acknowledgement by Kristopher Triana to his readers, and the team at Blood Bound Books. It was the flashy Cover Art of “Toxic Love” that caught my eye.

But here is the funny thing, I somehow started reading the “Sample” of “Left to You” by Daniel J. Volpe. It seemed to me that there was no memorable point of transition between Triana’s thoug

Robert's mother is dying of cancer. He works two jobs to keep the bills paid and provide for her the best he can. Any day could be her last. Robert would do anything to save her. Josef, a Holocaust survivor, approaches Robert with a way he could do just that, but it comes with a price. Fantastic book. Heartbreaking story filled with fantastic characters, and unforgettable imagery. Definitely check it out!

Hmmmmm….! Did I just read the best book I’ve read this year? I think I did. But did I also read one of the best book I’ve ever read?!? I believe I just did.

It hit ALL the marks for me - and blended all the types of genres and storybeats I love.

I went into this one semi-blind, and only saw that it won the Indie Horror Novel Battle Royale 2023 - and that makes total sense and was very well-deserved.
This was my first DJV book - will definitely not be my last (let me know which one it should be).

This is one of the best horror books I've read. Totally original and unique story with plenty of horror to go around - both the human and supernatural kind. The writing was excellent and kept me engaged the entire time from beginning to end. The characters were all fully fleshed out and very well developed. I wouldn't be surprised to see this story turned into a major movie or television series in the future. I've read several of Daniels books and I've loved them all but this one is special and ...more
