I've stalled on reading this for so long and I will probably regret that forever. This was such a wonderful read. I was already familiar with the story as in the Fall of Troy and the tragedy of Achilles dying but I was still swept of my feet by this amazing story. The love story between Achilles and Patroclus made me fall even more in love with this book. And the ending made me cry my eyes out! ...more

I don’t really care for a lot of historical fiction, but this kept me interested for the duration.
The story of Achilles and his lover Patroclus is queer fiction at its best. Tastefully done, with a Battle of Troy as the backdrop of the novel, this was pretty captivating with fighting and war mixed with compassion and love. Overall, pretty good. Would recommend.

This was honestly a beautifully written book. It hooked me from the start and Patroclus' relationship with Achilles' was devastatingly heartbreaking. The ending broke me bro :))

WARUM MOCHTE ICH DAS BUCH EINFACH NICHT.
Ich fühle mich total unnormal, weil JEDER dieses Buch liebt und ich es einfach nicht mögen konnte.
Don’t get me wrong, die Liebesgeschichte von Achill und Patroklos interessiert mich so sehr und ich bin so verdammt neugierig und aufgeregt gewesen.
Aber ich habe weder mitgefühlt noch geweint, ich kann’s einfach nicht glauben.
