stop everything right now and read this book because it’s hyped for a DAMN GOOD reason. everything about this book has me in a chokehold and i’ve never read a fantasy book as perfect as this one—there’s literally nothing missing, and i wouldn’t change a single thing. it’s about war, trials, dragons, found family, and lots of healthy, believable, and utterly beautiful love.

This book had everything I was looking for in a story, told in such a unique and powerful voice I easily fell in love with. Some parts had me chattering away on my nail with fear, while some made me giddily kick my feet as the two characters made.. wait for it... EYE CONTACT!!!
Apart from all the sizzling tension in the book, the fantastical adventure is just the best.

i wanted to give it 3.5 stars because this book felt soooo long but the end of chapter 36 made me feel something i haven’t felt in awhile
