This is a Polish novel, English title Abyss, which was nominated in 2025 for the Polish analogue of Hugo Award – the main SFF fan-voted award Nagroda Fandomu Polskiego im. Janusza A. Zajdla / Janusz A. Zajdel Award of Polish Fandom. For the last few years, I have taken part in voting, so I try to read all the nominees. The genre of the story is hard to determine, especially without spoiling the story.
