This book was a breath of fresh air in the high fantasy genre. I have read this book and “The Fall”, which is a prequel to the book.

There seems to be two camps of readers of this series where each has an order to read the first two books and some suggested that if you want a slower burn with more immersion, read the first novella after the first full book. I took that approach.
