I heard of Divali from a co-worker of whom I was fond. Her family called it their Christmas and fasted until they spotted the moon. I wanted to learn the originating legend but “The Divali Story” is noticeably lacking. It didn’t mention what my colleague practiced and even the background this book covers is clearly incomplete, to my eyes. A king wanted his eldest to assume his throne, with his wife.
