“The Scent Of Lilacs” is by a one-time authoress in 1966. I discovered prior to starting, that it was inspired by the Allen House, in which Carolyn Wilson lived! I bought Mark Spencer's book new and can't wait to hunker down with it. Saturday, I scored six mint condition gothic mysteries and looked them up to see which of my reading themes they fit. Standalone stories are usually obscure in this genre and out-of-print. This one still circulates and must be extraordinary.
