Published by pseudonym Jan Pfloog in 1963, “Animals On The Farm” is one of my childhood's ‘Little Golden Books’. As simple and short as every page's descriptions are, it is thoroughly educational. I did not know the word “poult”, identifying an infant turkey. I knew “ewe” but had not hitherto been clear on whether or not it was a synonym for sheep, or differing type.
