When I unwrapped this at Christmas and discovered it is the fourth novel, needed to continue this series, my spouse was elated to know this is a fortuitous find. It is out of print at Amazon and used websites charge too much, except one. I held off ordering, with Christmas close. These are intellectual mysteries & I really like that about them. Gamache is literate, articulate, & thoughtful, plus he knows art & poetry. He's also caring & kind as he goes about unmasking the murderer. There's always a personal subplot going on which adds to the interest. The Gamache's go to their traditional anniversary vacation spot & find it overrun by a rather bizarre family having their annual family reunion.
