Many experience spirituality strongly enough to generally understand it, even if we do not encounter spirits directly. Author’s interpretations are all over the map but I can get on board fiction that demonstrates the poignancy of love. Spirits might deprive themselves of the afterlife, because they did not see where a loved-one went in a tragedy. A Titanic victim haunting a recovery sailor about her son, made sense.
