The second book of The Raven Cycle that I buddy read with my friends Carolyn and Kerri was a good sequel! We had a great time reading it together.
Before everything, I think we should consider something, this is about every book I read.
Besides the difficulty of rating books on a scale of one to five, I also feel that it's not right to compare books from different genres, or writers. You know what I mean, I can't compare a children's book, romantasies or a debut novel with Victor Hugo, can I?!

A buddy read with Carolyn and Shirin, and a new favourite book! I had high hopes for this series, and so far it is easily exceeding them. Maggie Stiefvater's writing is wonderful to read, and all of her characters feel vividly real.

I prefer progressing past orientation to key premises. I like anxious acquaintance righted and characters established comfortably in their family and friend groups. This is how I decided I liked “The Dream Thieves” equally, to the much more mysterious and active opening novel. Reading this series alongside my friends Kerri & Shirin, Shirin & I more enthralled with the wonderment of the Latin speaking forest and other mysticism and discoveries the first novel held.

Nov 2019: Fall is for Maggie. It's just inevitable. I cannot resist.
Dec 2015: Prepping for "The Raven King" in 2016. Despite the language, I love Maggie's turn of phrase. More favs: "The engine ticked like the twitch of a dying man's foot."
"He smiled nastily at her. She smiled nastily back. Both smiles said, I've got your number."
"There was that heavy silence that sometimes happens when a hit man enters a room."
"Declan looked shocked and poisonous. He was always so alarmed by the truth."
