Once upon a time, I used to count the number of KA books I had read. But now I've read so many that I've lost count. I bring this up for a reason. I've read quite a few of KA's books. Some I've loved and some have been a trial for one reason or another. But one thing that has never happened, in all of her books I've read, is she has never made me cry. Until now.

When doesn't she? I love her voice as a author. She makes wonderfully flawed characters. She's just an amazing writer. She paints such a vivid picture that it's almost like a film is playing in your mind..

I feel like it took me forever to get here, and, well, it kind of did. I started this Trilogy in 2012 and did a re-read/listen starting in 2017 in preparation of finally getting to this book.

This was a long one. Not shocking, most of KA’s books are pretty long, but this seemed extra-long and it was needed and appreciated. There was a lot more to this book than just getting the third couple’s story. So much more. So, let’s start with a bit of that more shall we?

YURI. Can I just say that this may I feel like it took me forever to get here, and, well, it kind of did. I started this Trilogy in 2012 and did a re-read/listen starting in 2017 in preparation of finally getting to this book.

This was a long one. Not shocking, most of KA’s books are pretty long, but this seemed extra-long and it was needed and appreciated. There was a lot more to this book than just getting the third couple’s story. So much more. So, let’s start with a bit of that more shall we?

YURI. Can I just say that this may have been one of the best parts of the book and I am now almost devastated he didn't get his own book? This is shocking to me but that made it so much more, well, better! Really! I didn’t even think I cared all that much about him but now I would love to have more of him. More, more, more. Gah! Anyway, that is just one small part of everything that was in this book and just one of my favorite of those parts.

The best and my most loved part of this book was just Abel and Lilah. Just them. Not who they were, what they could do, what could be should be and would be, just them. In my re-read of Until the Sun Falls from the Sky I hated the relationship between the Mighty Vampire Lucien and Leah. It hurt me and didn’t feel good and man oh man, it took an eternity it seemed before they got it and by then I was done. Not as much with Callum and Sonia in With Everything I Am, but a lot of the same, kind of. But none of that with Abel and Lilah. Not even a little bit. They meet and they fit and they just ARE and it is BEAUTIFUL. After reading the other two books in the Trilogy I can’t even begin to tell you how welcome it was for these two to just fit and know it at first sight. Gah! It was lovely.

So yeah, like I said, there was so much going on in this one. Yes of course, our third couple, but also the other two and the war and Gregor and Lilah’s family and Abel’s family and just so freaking much!

It was exciting and calming. It was hot as fuck and sweet as pie. It was heartwarming and oh so very heartbreaking. It was the perfect ending to this Trilogy and I think I loved it all.

I don’t know what else to say about it. It was kind of awesome.

I had mixed feelings before going into this book based on reviews that I've read, I was glad to see that it wasn't bad like I was kinda expecting.

I have a love/dislike relationship with some of KA's books, so I wasn't sure.

I liked getting to know Abel while he was coming into his own, and he and Delilah were getting to know one another (and falling in love.)

There seemed to be a lot more sex in this book than the others in this series, not that I'm complaining, just making an observation.

OMG what a great way to finish this series even though I would have loved if it showed a little of the future maybe after the kids. There was an event that made me cry, (view spoiler) tears running down my face wasn't a pretty cry. I was glad to see that the humans accepted them after what happened. Also very happy that Yuri found love he deserved it. Again thank you dawn for the gift of these books. ...more
