My first book by Harper Sloan wasn't what I expected. Not going to rant and rave -- suffice it to say that this one just didn't work for me. It could have with a lot less repetitive porn scenes and a lot more depth and quality in the storyline. The characters were portrayed immaturely and unrealistically.

Felt like all Sloan's other novels. A little predictable. It was pretty cool having a glimpse into what the characters of Corps Security Series lives have turned into. However I felt like this book could of been so much more. The only part of the novel that solicited a genuine heartfelt reaction from me was the bit where Axel accuses Dani of sleeping with Chance. Other than that I didn't really connect well with Dani or Cohen.

It's been a while since I read the Corps Security series, and I didn't realize until I started that this book and series is a spinoff featuring the children of those characters.
Danielle's been in love with Cohen for as long as she can remember. Before now he's always felt like she was too young, but no that they're over 20 there's no reason to not give in to what they both want.

I thought I would enjoy this title because of the Corps Security series. Cohen was an engaging little boy but he turned into a kind of whiny man. Couldn't finish. Maybe I will try again another time.
