After reading Shaking the Sugar Tree, I was over the moon when I heard that there was a second book coming along. When I got my hands on Stones in the Road, I thought "oh no, isn't that the same as hitting bumps in the road?" ... Wow, I loved this book. I was surprised at this because I hated Shaking the sugar tree. The ups and downs was heartbreaking. I laughed at the Ledbetters. They were so funny. Eunice and Wiley were great when they got going. I also liked how Wiley did not forgive and forget and that Jackson did not just get well quickly. I hope there is another book in the future for this family.
