After taking a long break from what had become a steady diet of Kristen Ashley's books, I fell for all the hype and hoopla that was surrounding Joker and Carissa's story in Ride Steady.

I didn't hate it, nor did I love it. It was merely an average read that I felt could have been so much more. It lacked the depth in the relationship building between Carson and Carissa. KA’s books are always hit and miss with me so while they often sound good, I always go into them with some trepidation. This book was no exception. I loved Own the Wind but couldn’t get into Fire Inside at all. I’m happy to say that this book definitely worked for me!

I loved the history between Joker and Carissa. I loved how there was something there before Carson aka Joker had to leave, ending things before they began.

This book is one of my favorite from Chaos MC series, so far.
As usual, other than main characters, there are always a bunch of loveable side character. Aside of Chaos members and their families, there're Mr. Robinson, Linus and Mrs. Heeley.

I’m such a fan of anything by Kristen Ashley, her men are always rough, tough and don’t take any ones lip. In her Chaos series, the drama and emotional aspects are intense and heartbreaking, but I love every moment and every character.

Ride Steady follows Carson Steele who was always a loner in high school but secretly crushed on by every girl. He lived a life that he wouldn’t wish on anyone, with a mother who abandon him as a baby and a father who drank and abused him. When he turned eighteen he decided to leave, change his life and find his place. But he never forgot the one girl that caught his eye and who wished him the best in his journey, Carissa Teodoro. Known now as Joker, he meets Carissa by chance, seeing how her life has drastically changed. Once again they come together and try and fight back to past mistakes and see the future that possible for both of them.

Carson aka Joker was dealt with a hard blow when he was a kid, he hated his father and luckily had neighbors who looked after him. But he needed to be free from the evil and found a place with the Chaos Motor Cycle club after years of finding himself. I loved how Carson stayed true to himself; he was an artist in high school and become an extraordinarily talented designer with bikes and drawings. He was probably the most secretive about his life compared to the others introduced in the previous books. He wanted to forget and move forward, but he never really let go his anger. Carissa was always so kind to him in high school and meeting her at a time in her life where she was struggling was meant to be. Joker saw her loving attitude hadn’t changed, she didn’t like showing that she was run down but she was very welcoming. I enjoyed all their moments together especially how sweet Joker was to Carissa’s son. But as always with the Chaos boys, they are dirty talking and love to have their women and protect them. He does this and more and I couldn’t of asked for a better guy for her.

Carissa is in a very different place compared to the other Chaos girls, she has a young son to take care of, a dreadful ex –husband who left her for a young woman and no support. So pretty much she is doing everything possible to provide for her child while trying not to lose custody. All my heartstrings were being pulled for her, I couldn’t stand how she was being treated by her ex and how she constantly worried that she could lose her son whom she loved more than anything. When Joker stepped into her life, she doesn’t know he’s the boy she crushed on in high school, but his rough exterior couldn’t masked his kindness. Their romance was pure and wonderful to watch develop, a lot of bearers had to be broken down on both sides but it was worth it. I loved how joker brought out the tougher side to her and she was able to become herself again.

Overall I loved the third book in this series, all the past boys and girls are back and ready to help the new couple. The drama, danger and smexy scene are better than ever, I just cant get enough! In the end I always love the character development and depth taken in the writing, I connect easily to each and every person and never want the book to end. I cant wait to see what Ashley comes up with next!

This book was almost perfect. It may have been that way if I had actually read it instead of listening to the audio version. Don't get me wrong Kate Russell is an awesome narrator, but when I hear badass biker in my head it has a more manlier voice. So, it should have been a man or woman that can make a deeper male impersonation giving me my badass biker.
