A lot of this felt new to me, a lot.

I honestly don't know why this hit different this time around. I had tears in my eyes a couple of times, and I laughed more this time around. I loved getting to relive Roxie meeting Tex in person for the first time. I already loved Tex, but when Roxie came this made him a bit softer.

When I read this book years ago, I got pretty feed up with the alpha male thing these guys had going, and there were times that I still felt that way this time also, but I realized that the ladies, Roxie more than anyone, did work at counteracting their overbearing behavior.

Besides the emotional aspect, I loved how they jest about the speed of their relations. Jet & Eddie and now Hank & Roxie.

I've been enjoying my reread through these books because some things I had forgotten, such as how Shirleen and Daisy got so involved in their lives. Now I can't wait to get to Jules and Vance's story because she blasted on the scene, and I'm ready to relive that.

Kristen Ashley has done it again. I loved this story and if it were for pure entertainment value I would have given it 5 stars, but it dealt closely with domestic violence. In that regard I found the overwhelming alpha male thing between Hank and Roxie was a bit much.

Roxie has been trying unsuccessfully for years to break off a relationship with a man, Billy, who will just not take no for an answer. He refuses to let her out of this relationship, going so far as to hunt her down when she leaves him. One of the things that he did before she made it to Denver was bring her back and basically started his reign of physical abuse.

Roxie decides this time to go to Denver and visit Uncle Tex, who we have all come to know and love, and set her plan to finally be done with Billy in motion. Of course, things don't go as planned for her.

On her first day there she meets Hank, and the sparks fly. It is a total world wind. Hank as we all know is a cop and a Nightingale. He sets eyes on this woman and knows that he wants her. The breakneck speed in which their relationship escalates would not have been a problem if it wasn't for the fact that she is coming out of an abusive relationship, and now have these men, Hank and Uncle Tex, telling her how to run her life. Yes, some of it is for her own good, but goodness couldn't they give the woman a chance to figure out who she is and heal, to make sure she is making sound decisions? I guess not.

Anyway, regardless of those things I loved the story overall. Roxie is just as tough as her fellow Rock Chicks and Hank is just as alpha as his fellow Hot Bunch. ...more

I knew I was going to like this one, after reading the first 2 of the series. I was really wanting to read more about Hank after the first book so I was really excited not to have to wait any longer! This book continues in a great small Colorado town with gorgeous women and a lot of alpha tough sexy men!

Re-read Aug 23 2016 :) Still love it... Can not put it down. The reunion between Roxie and Tex and the connection between Hank and Roxie immediately. Awesome.

I am enjoying these books more as I go along!

Hank reminded me of Tack from KA's Chaos - when he would steamroll over Roxie and drag her around. That got on my nerves quickly, but it got better and Hank and Roxie were hot so I got over it. LOL.
