What Members Thought

I’m a big fan of most of Colleen Hoover’s books, but this one took a twist in the road that just screamed WRONG WAY to me. It left me with a hole in my heart full of disappointment. Yes, the poetic writing skills are still ever present and the unique and carefully plotted genius is alive and well. But this time it just didn’t jell. And yes, I understand that this is fiction and authors have the right to venture into unknown and questionable territory. But I still want to believe in the possibili ...more

This was my first Colleen Hoover novel, and it was a lot of fun.
While there was a lot of angst, it had several laugh out loud moments that I really loved. I expected to cry, but never did. Maybe the laughter spots broke the tension enough. At first it reminded me of one of my favorite movies, Same Time Next Year (with Alan Alda and Ellen Burstyn), but the premise is actually quite a bit different.

November 9
Another amazing book by Colleen Hoover!
November 9 is not a cookie cutter romance novel. The story is so different and surprising.
The book tells the story of what happens on this one date each year. It chronicles the ups and downs of Ben and Fallon as they navigate toward and away from each other.
Ms. Hoover is a master at throwing unexpected plot twists and turns at her readers. I fell in love, had my heart broken, laughed and cried.

This book...just wow.
Trying to describe how great this book is without overusing the word amazing is going to be hard. I've read everything Colleen has written and each book is just as good or even better than the last. The characters are so real you feel like you know them or could know them.
Both Fallon and Ben are dealing with painful pasts that have scarred them both. They find healing in each other with a pact to meet every year on November 9th. The book is broken up in alternate POV as th ...more

Guys, I just don't know how to rate this book. As is typical with Colleen Hoover, I find myself charmed, gutted, entertained and entranced all at once. Maybe if I talk it out a bit, it'll help me come to a conclusion. (Spoiler: It helped.)
(Random side note: you know it's December when I plow through two books in a weekend. Possibly the only thing I love about winter is the volume of books I consume.)
What I Liked:
- The setup. It's nothing new, but it's a trope I love. Like Before Sunrise/Sunset, ...more

This book had all the feels, which would have made it a 5 star read under normal circumstances. This however is not a normal circumstance, because the author committed one of the fatal flaws that I have decided to start docking a star for(view spoiler)
