What Members Thought

I have avoided this book for years.
This is just not my kink. It wasn't years ago and it isn't now.
But.
I asked my friends for some recs and this was an overwhelming result so I figured fuck it.
I will be honest with you. This still is not my kink but this book, this book was very good. Very. There was so much more to this than what I expected. The sex was a huge part of the story for sure, but it worked. It made sense and at the end of the day, not my thing, but it definitely was theirs.

This was a really good read that I have had on my tbr list for awhile. Ranch hand Roe Davis absolutely never mixes business with pleasure until he runs into his boss, Travis Loving, at the only gay bar within two hundred miles. These two begin hooking up and it was hot and heavy it started out with no strings but grew into something more. Roe was kick out when he came out and he has some insecurities. Travis Loving, is the sexy owner of the Nowhere Ranch. I liked both of these characters Roe was

Maybe I'll have time to unkink my thoughts a bit and write a full review later.
My problem is this book is mixed in several ways: It's like a creamy pudding with bits of bitter hard candy; both are good but they don't mix naturally on my palette. Then the chef came along and put a thick layer of peppermint cream over everything. It was an enjoyable read but hard to distinguish all the ingredients, though they were each tasty. ...more

“You’re polite enough on the ranch, but you’re assertive too. Not here. You would do anything I told you right now, wouldn’t you, Roe?”
“Yes, sir.” It was true. I would.
“Even dirty things.”
“Even dirty things, sir. Probably especially those.”
4.5 RATING- This book was probably the kinkiest book I've ever read. Hands down. I was prepared for that based on some reviews I'd read and admittedly that was initially the draw. I was in "a mood" and looking for something outside the norm than my regu ...more

This is my first time reading Heidi Cullinan but I am totally convinced it won't be my last.
This story is about a young ranch hand Roe, that has a hard young adulthood after coming out to his family. He was pretty much turned away and told he was no longer welcome on his childhood farm. This led to a stent in jail, then a traveling life as a ranch hand who purposefully never would stay in one place long enough to have friends.

A beautiful love story packed with emotion. Her characters evoke deep feelings of empathy, sorrow, joy, and love. Loneliness, shame, and acceptance are the strongest themes of this heartfelt novel. Finding your place, your friends, your love and creating a family are everything in life. Being loved and loving in return gives this couple an enduring happiness that every couple deserves. Lovely novel.
