Be that girl, Lily. Brave and bold!

First of all, I couldn't do justice to the story or the writing talent found in this book. I am keeping this short and to the point. My favorite book by Colleen Hoover, and I didn't think there would be one that could outdo Slammed. From the beautiful cover that now makes complete sense to that dedication where the tears started to flow, this story jolted and stunned from start to finish. Hands down, Colleen Hoover's best. I still have a sentimental fondness for November 9, but this one - like Jodi Picoult's A Spark of Light - takes a difficult emotional subject (abortion, domestic violence) and somehow manages to humanize it.

I really felt the love between Lily and Ryle was real. And therefore, when the domestic violence occurs, it hits you hard. Also, the love triangle was not your typical love triangle.

Well written story about domestic violence.
There, I said what the book was about. I know legions of fangrrls are all advising to go ahead and read it without any spoilers as if they know what is best for you but fuck that condescending shit.

My emotions are all over the place, and my eyes are going to be swollen all day tomorrow for sure. Such a beautiful and heartbreaking story. This one will stick with me for a long time.

Oh man you guys, this book... There's so much I could say about it. It's unlike anything I've read for a long time. It's a romance, cautionary tale and general fiction all wrapped into one. This is my second Colleen Hoover book and I have to say that she's going to be on my must read list going forward. There's so much to unpack in this book. I can't even give a description of what it's about or what I loved about it without giving too much away (beyond what's in the synopsis already).
