I really loved book 1 in this series, Optical Illusion, but unfortunately, book 2 was a miss for me. I was so frustrated with the book, I honestly wanted to DNF it, but I pushed through and finished it.
As you know, book 1 ended in a cliffhanger, and Optical Illusion starts up almost right after the hit and run. Chris is recovering in the hospital, when his newly discovered homophobic Grandmother from the US shows up and whisks him and Jase over to the Baccionii family co

OMG I think I loved this one ever more than I loved the first book. This one isn't as dark a read as the first one. Chris is still filled with self-doubt and those unworthiness feelings even more so in this book than in book one. Blank Canvas picks up right where the first book ends. Chris is seriously injured in a hit & run accident by an unknown party, and no I never guessed who it was. They came way out of left field.
