Daisy Ellis is mourning for the loss of her husband Lord Craigmore. The marriage was a farce and he left her with nothing.
I wasn’t too sure about Daisy in book 1 but in this book she is a hoot. Strong, funny, with a sharp tongue and a zest for life although that was nearly taken from her. Thanks to Queen Vic there is a year to mourn and well that year is fina TODAYS NEWS. READ ALL ABOUT IT:

5 Birds of a Feather Stars.

Daisy Ellis is mourning for the loss of her husband Lord Craigmore. The marriage was a farce and he left her with nothing.
I wasn’t too sure about Daisy in book 1 but in this book she is a hoot. Strong, funny, with a sharp tongue and a zest for life although that was nearly taken from her. Thanks to Queen Vic there is a year to mourn and well that year is finally up. On her first night out in painting the town red. I do say that she gets into a spot (okay a major spot) of bother.

Ian Ranulf, the Marquis of Northrup is a royalty and he does what he wants when he wants. He is lonely. He tries to get by with life by drinking, tupping and gambling. We also meet Ian in book 1 as he took a fancying to the lovely Miranda. Ian changes and redeems himself in this book and well as a character I just loved him. I didna wan a lov’ him but it canna be helped.

There is so much brilliance in this world that has been created. The overall plot was unique, captivating but also dark, gritty and gutting with what happens. There is murder & mayhem. Shapeshifters, GIM (Ghost in Machines), and Vampires.

When they realize that they have feelings for one another.

“I could love you, you know."
"I could love you, too.”

I loved their banter.

“Randal is a lad of about twenty and two, curly-haired and distressingly cherubic in appearance."
"Distressingly? Really, Northrup, I cannot see what could be distressing about a cherub."

His brows drew in a scowl. "They're baby angels, for God's sake." As if this explained all.”

And Ian’s Scottish brogue.

“But if ye think that such revelations will cause me to take leave of my senses and put you in the direct path of danger than you’ve gone as daft as a wee loon.”

Turns out that Miranda isn’t the only one with abilities

“Dirt!" she shouted, no longer able to contain her ire. "Of all the gifts I could have received, I am left with dirt.”

Now although I knew what was in store for Daisy and it was unfortunately the only way. It was the icing on the cake for me.

We are introduced to a bunch of secondary characters. Mary Chase & Jack Talent.
I know that it is early on in the series at it might be a little too soon to say this but Ian & Daisy are one of my favorites. They have the whole package.

I love Steampunk genres but there is always only so much that I can take of it. Historical romances are not my thing at all. Although this is historical due to the paranormal romance included I loved every single moment of this book.

Poppy & Winston are up next. Not really a fan of this couple but I’m sure I’ll be swayed in my opinion. ...more

Moonglow took me a little longer to "get into" than Firelight (thus the 4 stars) but, once I did, I was hooked. Kristen Callihan's "Darkest London" series is at the top of my list for paranormal romance - very imaginative and well written...believeable with characters you pull for. I'm starting Winterblaze today! ...more
