LOVED IT! What a fabulous little gem of a read, and I'm so grateful to Barbara for doing re-reads of her favourites, else I would've missed this one.

This to me is what I want to read in a romance, to see their relationship grow so beautifully with no ridiculous drama. Loved both characters - Adrian truly has a heart of gold and Dominic, that poor man went through sheer hell to get his happy.

Did I say I loved it?!

I have been trying to write this review all day and every time I try to just review the book, well, I can’t. Long story short, this: https://www.goodreads.com/questions/1.... I don’t even know where to go from this answer. I have a thing about reading order but this is like insane and I feel like I can’t even read just this series in order without reading the other books and man, there are a lot of books. Imagine my surprise last night when I went to read Sleepless and it said right at the begin ...more

Great read

What an amazing story about the harsh reality of living on the streets. Some will make it, most won’t.
Dominic is a survivor, but his methods of making money are unsafe and desperate. Knowing that he has a daughter living across the country is all the motivation he needs to get himself on a bus to the Pacific Northwest.
Adrian is a teacher who helps run a shelter/safe-haven for homeless teens. Guess who Dominic meets the minute he gets off the bus?
This story was so well-written, the ch

This could so easily have been an Agonizing story of a young guy living on the streets with only one goal: to be back in his 3-year old daughter's life. However, instead of a story of unredeemed suffering, it's soft as a pillow as we follow this potential loser into a life of love, safety and trust.
It's such a pleasure to follow a story where good things happen. It seems like it's been a very long time.

Cara Dee writes a compassionate story of a young man's struggle to change the direction of his life. It's a lovely story. It's also a story that doesn't realize it should stop talking. Sorta like the (annoyingly perfect) character Teach, who likes to lecture.

I was bored by chapter fifteen. What steam, conflict, passion, and struggle there was, was done. I wasn't invested in the final arc, where Dominic and his newfound family travelled to see his "pseudo dad." It seemed like an unnecessary add-

This story is sweet even though it comes with the background of homelessness, abuse and prostitution. Much of the dark elements are not given much prominence which for me might seem like they were brushed aside too soon considering how much influence they should have had on Dominick's life.

Adrian was a little too perfect for my liking, and since we don't know his side of the story, all we see are his action and he is a saint. He is a great teacher, does everything for Dominick who is a perfect s

Wow, this was a great book. I can't wait for more. Dominic broke me to pieces, he would do anything to provide for his daughter. Adrian appeared lost & lonely. You don't get a lot about his past & what really keeps him alone but it worked fine. Adrian took his time getting Dominic to trust him and show him that there is more than just meaningless sex. ...more
